The Dispatch is designed for easy loading and has a lot of room in the rear, with a volume of seven cubic metres and a load length of 2.58 metres in its largest iteration. The high-roof model offers up to 1.75 metres of space for taller types of cargo, while the sliding doors at the side allow for full-sized Euro pallets to fit in with ease, speeding up the process of using this van for deliveries and distribution.
At the rear there are swing doors which open up to a full 180 degrees, while the load sill can be as little as 562 millimetres high if pneumatic suspension is specified. So getting heavy items in and out is never an issue.
Aside from the functionally beneficial elements of the Dispatch’s dimensions and design, it is also a good-looking van range which has been put together with various appealing details, including a chrome grille and a pleasant interior.
Safety is worth taking seriously whether you are buying a family car or a panel van. And with the Dispatch there are a lot of advantages added by Citroen to make it a more respectable member of the road-going community.
Cruise control comes as standard, meaning that the driver can set the speed and let the van do the rest of the work, lessening fatigue over longer motorway journeys. There is also a speed limiter which can be used to set a maximum speed that the van will not exceed, making it simpler to avoid accidentally breaking the law and putting others at risk.
Grip control is also included, combining ESP with a multitude of other settings that let drivers switch on the mode which is most appropriate for the conditions they are facing. From ice and snow to rough terrain and adverse cambers, the grip control solution prevents wheel spin and skidding to keep the Dispatch on the straight and narrow.
As well as the panel van version of the Dispatch, there are both crew van and platform cab models available. The standard engine selected for this range is an HDi 90 unit that has a combined drive cycle of 42.2 miles per gallon, while there are also other efficient modern diesel engines in this range.
Basic inclusions, from electric windows and a Bluetooth-compatible radio to overhead storage and a sat nav system are available. And a driver’s airbag is featured on all models, with the option to add passenger airbags as well as side and curtain airbags.
Sharing the same platform as the Peugeot Expert and Toyota ProAce, the Citroen Dispatch range is filled with LCVs that have kept up with modern trends.
