Peugeot Expert 2007 Model Review
Peugeot Expert 2007 Model
The 2007 Expert has a more traditional van-like appearance, and a choice of two wheelbases and two roof heights means it can compete with versions of larger vans like the Transit Custom. It remains compact enough for city use, though. The passenger-carrying version is now re-branded as the Peugeot Teepee.
There are three diesel engine options on this version, with a 1.6 litre giving 89bhp or a 2.0 litre with 120bhp and 136bhp versions up to 2009, and 126bhp and 161bhp after that. Payload is up to 1,200kg with the long wheelbase and 2.0 litre engine (1,000kg for the shorter version) and cargo capacity to seven cubic metres with the high roof.
There are lashing points to secure loads and a useful cargo tunnel to safely transport things like pipes that runs through to the top of the cab. Two sliding side doors ensure easy access, as with the earlier model, and the rear wheel arches are spaced to allow a standard Euro pallet to be loaded from the rear.
The cab interior is quite spacious, though the centre passenger seat is narrow. There are plenty of cubby holes, though, door bins that can take 1.5 litre bottles and a big lockable glovebox that’s air-conditioned on some models. The 2007 Expert retains the earlier model’s overhead storage for documents and the like. Visibility is good thanks to a big windscreen and electrically adjustable door mirrors. The cab and cargo area can be locked and unlocked separately. Safety is taken care of with a driver’s airbag, ladder frame bulkhead and ABS brakes.
A mild facelift in 2012 changed the grille and front bumper to bring the design more into line with Peugeot’s current car range. The latest-generation Expert launched in 2016
